Caladenia bryceana

to Caladenia
Caladenia bryceana is about the smallest spider orchid in Western Ausrtalia.
The flowers are less than 2cm from top to bottom on a stem less than 10cm.
Being so small, they are very difficult to see. You can stand next to them
and not notice them. This orchid is not common (maybe becuase it is so hard
to find!) and is currently declared as Rare Flora.

With pollinating wasp.

Caladenia bryceana
The wasp lands and grabs what it thinks is a female (the labellum),
crawls up...
|

...and then the labellum overbalances and the wasp is tipped into
the pollen at the tip of the column.
